OUR CLUB
The Essington Cannons Basketball Club (Cannons) was originally formed for students at the Essington International School and their friends to have a safe and local club run by the school.

In November 2018 the Cannons Club was gifted to the Darwin community by the school and a new constitution was declared. The club became an Incorporated not-for-profit entity, managed by a volunteer Committee.
The Essington School remains the naming sponsor for the Cannons and has strong ties, including through use of the excellent Essington school facilities for training.
In 2024 the Cannons Committee reaffirmed their commitment to growing the club as a safe, inclusive club where all Darwin community members can find a basketball home, regardless of where they live or what school they go to .
